Psalm 7: Impending Justice

God is the righteous Judge of all,
And daily is His rage,
When evil men pervert his law,
And war against him wage.
The wicked kill the saints of God,
They murder rape and blame.
They steal, and lie, pray to the dead,
And burn children with flames.

If they will not repent and turn,
But in injustice go,
The Lord shall surely whet His sword,
And bend His battle-bow.
He makes ingenious tools of death,
And instruments of war,
He cuts Himself great shafts of fire,
He will defend His shore.

The wicked man gives birth to sin,
Conceiving troubles great,
His mind devices crocked lies,
His passions will not wait.
The wicked man has dug a pit,
But he has fallen in.
His violence falls upon his head,
Thus, he will pay for sin.

My righteous God and Judge I praise,
I praise Him till I die.
I will sing unto His name,
Sing to God most high!

Psalm 29: A Love Song

All you heavens, hear,
And give my Lord his glory.
My Lord, my Love is strong,
My Christ, my King is holy.
Worship the Lord with splendor,
With the splendor of holiness, sing!
Give Him the glory due,
To our Jehovah King.

His voice goes o’er the sea,
And sounds like rolling thunder.
Like hurricanes it comes,
And brings the heavenly wonders.
And at his words the ceders break –
Sequoya, redwood banyans – all.
The mountains too must flea like calves,
The cliffs and crags and hillocks fall.

The power of my Lord, my Love!
Could any make it higher?
His voice descends like flames of stars,
His tongue can kindle fire.
His domain includes the wilds,
The wilderness where life is rare.
His words give life and birth and child,
And also strips the forest bare.

“Glory!” I will cry!
“My savior cannot die!”
His throne sits on the flood forever,
He gives us strength in our endeavor.
Your throne, my Love, will never cease,
And you will give your people peace.

Psalm 7: Judgement

My shield, my sword, my bulwark high,
Save me from my foes!
To you, my Lord I’ll surely fly,
For refuge from my woe.
Lest they tear my flesh apart,
Like lions, take me prey.
Rending up my bones and heart,
With none to make them stay.

Have I wronged them Lord, my God?
Is there evil in me?
If I have harmed him without cause,
Or done iniquity,
Then leave me to this evil man,
Let him take my life,
Before him then I will not stand,
Let him end this strife.

Arise in righteous anger, Lord,
Release your glorious fury.
Deliver me! Unsheathe your sword.
Bring your judge and jury.
Call out the senate of the earth,
And over them preside.
With your lips give justice birth,
Judge me. I’ll not hide.

Before the nations judge me, Lord,
By my righteousness.
Judge the nations. save me Lord,
By my innocence.
I have put my shield on Christ,
Defend me, save me, judge me right.
