Walk in the Light! (I John 1:5-2:2)

Jehovah God, the Spirit, Christ,
Displays Himself in purest light,
No shade of darkness is in Him,
But flow from us in putrid sin.
A rift between the Lord and man,
Thus righteously we should be damned:
We hypocrites, indifferent beasts!
Delusional in all we teach,
Denying, lying, minimizing,
Shifting blame, and criticizing,
In total disregard of right,
And sold to dark, rebellious night.

In darkness yet the Light has dawned,
To show the way our Lord has gone,
That we may follow after Him,
Walk in the light, and not in sin!
This narrow beam of light we walk,
Between the lions towards the Rock,
The house of God that Jesus made,
Who washes all our sins away.
For in the light we safe abide,
In light we’re cleansed to be His bride.

If you would walk this narrow way,
Confess the sins that you display,
And do not hide or cover sin,
Expose sin quickly and repent.
Be confident that He will save,
Who ever washes sin away,
Confess specifically your sin.
Without a grudge He cleanses them.

If you are cleansed then you are light,
So penetrate the darkest night!
Shine out the light that they may see,
And come into eternity,
When some from every tribe unite,
All clothed in white – all clothed in light,
When darkness ceases then to be,
To worship God eternally!

I John 1:1-4: Good News

This boundless, joyous news,
Extravagance of grace,
As lepers bearing food,
Unto a starving race:
Jehovah of the Jews,
To gentiles shows His ways,
And with His grace infused,
Proclaim this news in praise!

Who has always been,
Who we listened to,
Who we all have seen,
Who we touched His wounds,
The Word of life in Him,
Who came to me and you,
To take away the sin,
And in us life renew.

Incarnate life revealed,
In flesh before our eyes,
The covenantal seal,
Of which we testify.
And witness to what’s real,
That Jesus lived and died,
All brokenness to heal,
Who rose again to life!

Then we are joined to Christ,
And through Him partners made,
In fellowship, His bride,
And brothers in His grace,
That joy may full abide,
And joy be full displayed,
Then freely testify,
The grace you have obtained.

Psalm 29: Our Mighty God

You mighty children of the King,
Come listen to me as I sing,
And render to the Lord His due,
And give Him strength and glory too.
Yes, render glory to His name,
And bow in holiness arrayed.
Boast not in deeds that you have done,
For God alone has seen them done.
The splendor of your native land,
Was given by Jehovah’s hand.
Your wickedness and ugly sin,
Are covered and atoned by Him.
Jehovah’s voice is over seas,
The waters of my enemies,
And there was light! When thunder blows,
Who walks upon the tempest’s throes.
Jehovah’s voice in power is,
And majesty is always His,
Who makes a road where waters were,
And all His enemies deters.
Jehovah’s voice has shattered trees,
And sycamores he breaks with ease,
Who causes cedars to be felled,
To make a house in which to dwell.
He frightens every foreign foe,
And every nation He will own,
That they will dance with joy renewed,
As little calves who see their food.
Jehovah’s voice in fire spews,
As over Egypt which he hewed.
In tongues of fire He descends,
To every nation grace extends.
Jehovah’s voice the deserts shake,
And over darkness dawn will break,
And Elath writhes in labor pains,
He strips the forests in His claim.
In wonder let us glory shout,
To God who brought the flood about.
Jehovah reigns, and Him alone!
Jehovah sits on kingly throne,
And all His sons in strength increase,
He fills our hearts with holy peace.
You mighty men, in awe bow down,
Before Him cast your feeble crown,
And boldly ride against the foe,
For in the strength of Christ you go.
