Psalm 29: Our Mighty God

You mighty children of the King,
Come listen to me as I sing,
And render to the Lord His due,
And give Him strength and glory too.
Yes, render glory to His name,
And bow in holiness arrayed.
Boast not in deeds that you have done,
For God alone has seen them done.
The splendor of your native land,
Was given by Jehovah’s hand.
Your wickedness and ugly sin,
Are covered and atoned by Him.
Jehovah’s voice is over seas,
The waters of my enemies,
And there was light! When thunder blows,
Who walks upon the tempest’s throes.
Jehovah’s voice in power is,
And majesty is always His,
Who makes a road where waters were,
And all His enemies deters.
Jehovah’s voice has shattered trees,
And sycamores he breaks with ease,
Who causes cedars to be felled,
To make a house in which to dwell.
He frightens every foreign foe,
And every nation He will own,
That they will dance with joy renewed,
As little calves who see their food.
Jehovah’s voice in fire spews,
As over Egypt which he hewed.
In tongues of fire He descends,
To every nation grace extends.
Jehovah’s voice the deserts shake,
And over darkness dawn will break,
And Elath writhes in labor pains,
He strips the forests in His claim.
In wonder let us glory shout,
To God who brought the flood about.
Jehovah reigns, and Him alone!
Jehovah sits on kingly throne,
And all His sons in strength increase,
He fills our hearts with holy peace.
You mighty men, in awe bow down,
Before Him cast your feeble crown,
And boldly ride against the foe,
For in the strength of Christ you go.
