Sacrifice Your Precious Son (Hebrews 11:17-19)

“Go and take your precious son,
Born by your barren wife,
And on the hill that I will show,
Slay him in sacrifice.”
“Wait here to keep the caravan,
The boy and I alone,
Will go and will return to you,
When sacrifice is done.”
“There is no lamb, O father, why?
You tie my hands and feet.
I trust that you have heard the Lord,
Submitting willingly.”
“Lay not your hand upon the lad,
And stay your thirsty knife!
Behold the ram prepared for you,
Make him your sacrifice!”

“Go to earth, my precious Son,
And veil yourself in flesh.
And on the hill that I will show,
They will put You to death.”
“Wait here, while I will kneel and pray,
Keep watch and be alert,
For I will go away and die,
But surely I’ll return!”
“I am the lamb, O Father, see,
They pierced my hands and feet.
I trust you! I will drink this cup,
Though You’ve forsaken me.”
“Lay not your hand upon my Son!
Oh Death, release your prey!
Arise, Beloved, We have won,
Christ conquered Sin and Grave!”
