The Hands of Judgment (Hebrews 10:23-31)

Hold to the promise we hope in,
Which can not be bended or broken.
Relentlessly hold the confession,
For it’s your most costly possession.
The One who has promised is certain,
And nothing can ever deter Him.

Take cognizance of one another,
To aid in defending your brother.
Unto Godly righteousness guiding,
Not shirking, forsaking, or hiding.
Exhort to the truth ever clearer,
As God’s day of judgment grows nearer.

If you willingly sin not believing,
Though a full knowledge you are receiving,
You’ve forsaken the grace you were given,
There’s no sacrifice left to be given.
But there’s fire prepared for the scoffer,
And wrath that is whetted to slaughter.

Oh tremble before Jesus’ anger!
His judgment is dreadful in danger.
His hands which will harrow the nation,
Are our only hope of salvation:
By those hands every rebel will perish,
By those hands we are lovingly cherished.

Meditation (Psalm 32:1-6)

(To the tune of “Ar Èireann Nì Neosainn Cè hì”)

Oh how blessed is the man God redeems,
He whose sins have been taken away.
Oh how bless is the man God calls clean,
Who is righteous in all of his ways.
But the weight of my sins as a chain,
In a moment would strangle my soul.
Yet You poured on Yourself all my pain,
And my punishment You paid in full.

I endeavored to fight sin alone,
God, Your hand it was heavy on me.
How my soul burned! My vigor had flown.
How my bones groaned in my misery!
I acknowledge my faults where I stand,
All my sins I confess openly,
On myself I have pointed my hand,
But You take all my sins off of me.

Let me teach all the nations Your praise,
And a song of deliverance sing.
Let me show all the peoples their place,
As we bow at the feet of our King.
So whenever the harvest abounds,
Or when we are a byword and loathed,
At all times, Lord, You may still be found,
In Your righteousness ever we’re clothed.

Walk in the Light! (I John 1:5-2:2)

Jehovah God, the Spirit, Christ,
Displays Himself in purest light,
No shade of darkness is in Him,
But flow from us in putrid sin.
A rift between the Lord and man,
Thus righteously we should be damned:
We hypocrites, indifferent beasts!
Delusional in all we teach,
Denying, lying, minimizing,
Shifting blame, and criticizing,
In total disregard of right,
And sold to dark, rebellious night.

In darkness yet the Light has dawned,
To show the way our Lord has gone,
That we may follow after Him,
Walk in the light, and not in sin!
This narrow beam of light we walk,
Between the lions towards the Rock,
The house of God that Jesus made,
Who washes all our sins away.
For in the light we safe abide,
In light we’re cleansed to be His bride.

If you would walk this narrow way,
Confess the sins that you display,
And do not hide or cover sin,
Expose sin quickly and repent.
Be confident that He will save,
Who ever washes sin away,
Confess specifically your sin.
Without a grudge He cleanses them.

If you are cleansed then you are light,
So penetrate the darkest night!
Shine out the light that they may see,
And come into eternity,
When some from every tribe unite,
All clothed in white – all clothed in light,
When darkness ceases then to be,
To worship God eternally!
