The voice of God is calling,
My brothers, do you hear?
Oh, listen to that calling,
And humbly bend your ear.
Let not your heart be hardened;
Oh, dreadful peril that!
For you are then God’s foe-man,
And you will stir His wrath.
Remember then the wonders,
God did in pharaoh’s court?
His disbelieving blunders,
Provoked God’s dread retort.
Or what of the damnation,
Of Sodom and of Tyre?
Each fell in conflagration,
In brimstone and in fire.
For every doomed rebellion,
All men to God opposed,
He justly did expel them –
Oh, be not Jesus’ foe!
No! Fight to stay receptive,
And hold on to your faith.
Eschew all that’s deceptive,
But on God’s Spirit wait.
Remember God is gracious,
And He has called to you.
So turn your heart to praises,
And meditate on truth!
