Doomed (Hebrews 6:4-6)

What man is there who can’t return to grace?
The one who’s learned of God’s enlightenment,
Who’s tasted of the heavenly gift to men,
Who’s been acquainted with the Spirit’s ways,
Who’s tasted of the Gospel word of praise,
Who’s seen the hosts of heaven’s firmament,
Yet turns aside to trespass into sin:
This man can never be renewed to faith.
For those this vicious fallen state who claim,
Are rebels and recidivists to night.
They openly then put the Lord to shame,
And crucify again the risen Christ.
Oh Jesus Christ, I plead now desperately,
That this description never labels me!

Foundational Doctrines (Hebrews 6:1-3)

To maturity let us be born,
The foundation is Jesus our Lord.
Here we build, and we hang all our hope,
Keep these ever in view as you grow:

All our works are as dung unto Him.
We are dead, and therefore must repent.

For by grace, through our faith, we are saved,
And that faith is a gift that God gave.

There are baptisms given by God:
Those of water, and fire, and blood.

The assembly of saints in His church,
Is essential to grow in His word.

Every man will be raised from the dead,
All those mortal immortal instead.

They’ll be judged by eternal decree,
To be punished, or paradise see.

Oh, Dread the Coming Judge (Hebrews 4:12-14)

Oh, dread the coming Judge who will display,
His justice on His coming judgment day:
The Word of God, the Son, the risen Lord,
Is living, active, double edged sword.
He’ll slice apart the spirit from the soul,
Dividing bones and joints – leaves nothing whole.
And He discerns the thoughts of every man,
He searches hearts to judge and then to damn.
Oh! hopeless humans, naked to His eye,
For not a creature from His wrath may hide,
We’re thrown upon our knees, our throats exposed,
Prepared as prey to perish as His foes.
Oh! will you turn to Christ, and this avoid,
Or guilty, in defense be thus destroyed?
For Jesus as the high priest of our faith,
Has crossed before to heaven and awaits,
To welcome those who hold onto His name,
And all His ransomed children then to claim.
If you would save your soul from death and hell,
Then cling to Christ and all your self compel,
To worship Him: in word, and thought, and deed.
So hold to Him, and He will intercede.
Then rest assured, you rebels-turned-redeemed,
For Christ condemns no more those He has cleaned.
