The Lord will write His law upon our minds,
And on our hearts His holy words inscribe.
And He will be to us a God indeed,
And we will be His kin, His holy seed.
And we’ll no longer urge our brothers, “Start,
To learn of God.” For we’ll know Him by heart.
This covenant the Lord will bring to pass,
By graciousness to our unrighteousness.
For He has paid the price that we deserve,
With justice pacified as grace is served.
He wipes our guilt off of His slate,
Remembers naught, for His own mercy’s sake.
Now cling unto this covenant of grace,
For the old covenant has been displaced,
As were the Canaanites thrust from the land,
To bring the promise God gave Abraham.
Do you not see the marvelous gift this is?
There is no better covenant than this!
