Heaven rended, light descended,
Angel-power rolls the stone,
Splendor shining, glory blinding,
Turns the tomb into his throne.
Fear and trembling, downward bending,
Fills the women up with dread,
Veteran warriors, seasoned soldiers,
Fall like stone, as if they're dead.
"Seek immortal through grave's portal?
Seek you life among the dead?
Look, the Savior's not contained here,
He is risen as He said!"
Hear delighted, joy ignited,
Greatest news that man can tell,
Christ ascended, death is ended,
Jesus saved our soul from hell.
Christ revealing, sorrow healing,
Kneeling down to kiss His feet.
As He's risen, rise forgiven,
Our salvation is complete.
