I See (Ecclesiastes 4:1)

Lord, I see the oppression done under the sun,
All the tears that the poor and the marginalized shed.
There is no one to comfort them: not even one,
For the power resides with the ones who oppress.

But Your throne is established on justice and right,
And Your arm is laid bare in omnipotent power.
It's Your heart to restore to the victim their might,
Giving dignity back to the ones who now cower.

Show me how to establish Your throne in this land,
That Your kingdom may reign here on earth as above.
With Your care and compassion for every man,
And equality under the law of Your love.

God’s Revolution (I Samuel 2:4-7)

The mighty man has bent his bow,
It snapped before he dealt a blow.
The one who fed on cream and meats,
Now begs for pennies in the streets.
The woman who had many sons,
Will live to mourn for every one.
For God controls both life and death,
Success and victory in Him rest.

He raises up and razes low,
He arms the weak against his foe,
He gives the hungry food to eat,
He makes the barren womb complete.
So rich or dispossessed are one,
For by God’s hand are these things done.
In honor or in lowliness,
God guides all so His name is blessed.

Absolute Authority (Hebrews 2:5-9)

As glorious as flaming angels are,
Was anything entrusted unto them?
God did not let them rule a single star,
But gave the world as the domain of men.
And Jesus Christ claims all authority,
And He redeemed His people from their plight.
Though He descended to mortality,
He’s now exalted, given His birth-right.
And absolute His power now holds sway,
And nothing is exempted from His reign,
Though you may never see it in your day,
Until that time when heaven’s shores we gain.
Have faith – the substance of the things not seen –
And you’ll be given this all-mighty King!
