A House of Cards (Luke 21:5-31)

Do not deceive yourself, my friend,
This world will fall apart,
Decaying from within by it’s own sin,
Therefore prepare your heart.

There is no system ever made,
That is too big to fail,
All kings collapse, all empires razed,
Before God all will pale.

The sword of God will come to clean,
In judgment on the world,
All conquered by the mighty King,
All ruled then by His word.

Be sure, your government will fall,
So make your heart prepared,
Your heart set on the Lord of all,
And don’t bow to despair.

This is no reason, then, to fear,
A falling house of cards,
The judgment of the Lord will clear,
The worldliness of heart.

The wrath of God when thus displayed,
Will show His majesty,
When worldly kings are full dismayed,
He’s shown the greater King.

Romans 13: Government and Election

As darkness whelms your soul,
And evil swallows all,
Yet God is in control,
And He wont let us fall.
The kings of every place,
The Lord established there,
To demonstrate His grace,
And bring His love to bear.
For all He has ordained,
And all is for His glory.
All to exalt His name,
And all to tell His story.
The government He gave,
A tool to bear His law,
Established not to save,
For everyone is flawed.
So do not bow to fear,
When evil men take reign.
For God is ever near,
Your fear of Him maintain.
You trust, then, not in man,
No fear of man, the same.
But in the Gospel stand,
Proclaiming Jesus’ name.
Don’t compromise the right,
And lose your witness here.
For who would heed your light,
If you’re supporting fear?
Support the cause of Christ!
The Gospel full pursuit.
Why sell your vote and rights,
For those who hate the truth?
But love your enemy,
And pray to God for them.
Denounce idolatry,
Not glossing over sin.
But see the Hand of God,
The Guider of all ends,
His mercy ever broad,
For this His arm extends.
When tribulation reigns,
Our hope is still in Him.
When others curse His name,
And glory in their sin,
When we are killed and raped,
And hunted night and day,
When we are all debased:
Yet Jesus still holds sway.
The kingdoms of the earth,
Are nothing in His sight,
But trials given birth,
To demonstrate His might.
For fire when it burns,
The gold will purify,
And through it we will learn,
How Christians ought to die.
Then let me herald this:
That Christ is ever king.
And I am always His,
His blood has made me clean.
Yes, I would die for Him,
And not for presidents,
My trust is not in them,
But for my Savior bent.

I Peter 2:11-15

As pilgrims and migrants abstain,
War with the lusts of the flesh.
Our weapons unworldly will gain,
Love from the Lord we posses.

Non-Christians will always accuse,
Vilest affronts to our head.
Yet by the good works that we do,
They may exalt God instead.

Conduct then with honor you deeds,
They will observe and take heed.
Submit, for the Lord’s sake, to these,
Governors, judges, and kings.

Authority comes from the Lord,
Thus God appointed these men.
To wicked they draw out a sword,
Goodness they praise and commend.

For this is the will of our God,
Goodness and love be our rule.
Thus showing man’s falsehood facade,
Silencing ignorant fools.
