The Destroyer, The Flood, and The Wall (Hebrews 11:28-30)

The grisly specter draws his naked sword,
He comes to kill by edict of the Lord.
You are my refuge from Your dreadful wrath.
Your blood alone makes the destroyer pass.

The legions of the pharaoh whelm my way,
The world in panoply to scoff and slay.
I trust your path will lead me through the sea,
And You will keep the flood from drowning me.

The walls of Jericho reach to the sky,
I tremble to attack, lest I should die,
Yet I believe the gates of hell can’t stand,
But must collapse before God’s mighty hand.

For faith has guided all the saints before,
And leveled all the foemen of the Lord.
