Leviticus 26:14-46: Covenant Curses

Cursed are those who disobey:
With sweat and bleeding pain,
With thorns all they will reap,
With darkness in the day,
The clouds their rain will keep.

Cursed are those who disobey:
And they shall walk in fear,
With ravaging of beasts,
With sickness ever near,
When harvesting will cease.

Cursed are those who disobey:
The Lord shall send distress,
Who rouse His furious rage,
Will eat their children’s flesh,
In desolation razed.

Cursed are those who disobey:
Who challenge what God loves,
The holy desecrate,
His graciousness rebuffed,
They’ll see His holy hate.

Cursed are those who disobey:
Destroyed by foreign foes,
They’ll flee though none pursue,
Their blood in ravage flows,
Their seed God will dilute.

Cursed are those who disobey:
Is that not all of us?
Who break the Law of God,
Who never can be just,
Deserve His dreadful rod?

Cursed are those who disobey:
But Jesus took the curse,
With thorns, and sweat, and blood,
And darkness on the earth,
To take the wrath of God.

Cursed are those who disobey:
But humble then your heart,
Confess your sordid sins,
Forgiveness He imparts,
To those who trust in Him.

Cursed are those who disobey:
Yet He now counts us blessed,
Removing all our sins,
In righteousness now dressed,
Acceptable to Him.

Then you will take the land,
With children your reward,
Accepted from His hand,
A blessing from the Lord.
