The Law and Testimony (Isaiah 8:16-22)

To the Tune of “Londonderry”
O Lord my God, dismayed I look around me,
And all I see is dark and anguished gloom;
While wicked men are wealthy and abounding,
And righteous men are sinking to the tomb.

CHORUS
But to the Law and to the Testimony!
But turn my eyes to gaze upon the Lord.
And there I find, when seeking Jesus only,
My sight is cleared, my heart is cheered, and I'm restored.

Lord bind my soul unto Your guiding scripture,
And seal Your law within my straying heart.
That with my children as a living wonder,
May be a sign that God has set apart.

So You may seek the wisest men or angels,
Apart from Christ, there is no light in them.
I wait on God, for He will yet untangle,
And show His face to those who hope in Him.
